This year we hold a single gathering, in the French Isère, across the days of Día de los Muertos. Limited to 15 participants. The two Mexican retreats return in 2027 — you may register your interest below.
Día de los Muertos
Four days with the sacred toad, held across the nights when the dead are said to come home. Bufo Alvarius in ceremony, Kambo purification, temazcal, cacao, and a collective ofrenda built on the first evening and dismantled on the last. Two hours from Geneva, one from Lyon. The same curanderos, the same frame, in the deep quiet of the Isère.

An immersive encounter with the sacred mushroom lineage — the Niños Santos — held in its ancestral Mazatec spirit. Days of deep listening, silent contemplation, temazcal and cacao. Getting there & the venue
Near Romagnieu, Isère — one hour from Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS), an hour and a half from Geneva (GVA), forty minutes from Chambéry. Nearest stations Chambéry and Lyon Part-Dieu. The precise location is shared four weeks before, for confidentiality. No organised transfer — arrange car, rental or car-sharing through the participant circle.
Dry toilets and hot showers, an outdoor natural pool, and the woods around the property. Bring warm layers — the Isère is cold at the end of October. Lodging is not included in the retreat price — see the generosity scale on the pricing section below.
Bring one photograph or one object that is important for you, for your process, for your journey. It goes on the collective altar on the first evening and comes back to you at the closing. If nothing comes to mind, bring a flower, a fruit, a drawing.
Six Steps of the Path
The medicine is not the experience — it is the whole arc of preparation, ceremony, and integration. We accompany you through each stage.
Before anything else, you ask yourself: why am I here? Not for the experience — for what the experience points toward. We provide reflection prompts and materials to help you arrive with clarity and purpose, not expectation.
You select your retreat, complete a short registration form, and secure your place with a 200 CHF/EUR deposit. This reserves your spot and gives you access to the preparation materials and the participant WhatsApp group.
A 1-hour individual session with your chosen facilitator — Mourad or Stephania — to review your intentions, discuss any medical or psychological history, and ensure you arrive held and ready. Scheduled at least 3 weeks before the retreat.
A recommended 7-day dietary protocol (no alcohol, reduced meat, no processed foods), plus a preparation guide covering set and setting, intention-setting exercises, and what to expect physically and psychologically.
Four days in ceremony, silence, and community. Alfonso and Adriana hold the ceremonial space. Facilitators are present throughout. You are never alone. The group remains together until each person has completed their journey.
A follow-up 1-hour individual session within 2 weeks after the retreat. Ongoing access to the participant circle. The real work begins when you return home.

We do not use the word healing. Exploration and transformation require discipline, practice, and intention. The medicine is not a shortcut — it is a mirror.
Each ceremonial session lasts approximately 50 minutes, is individual, and receives the full attention of the curanderos. The group stays together until each person has completed their process.
Confidentiality is essential. When speaking to others, you may simply say you are attending a cacao and temazcal retreat — which is entirely true.

Alfonso & Adriana
Described as "una pareja mágica" — a magical couple — by Costa (2020), Alfonso and Adriana embody the perfect balance of feminine and masculine energies. Together for nearly 25 years, with over a decade of dedicated practice with ancestral medicines, they accompany each participant with full attention before, during, and after every session.
Adriana is a storyteller, lawyer, and guide in ancestral Mexican ceremonies with cacao, maize, healing plants, and Bufo Alvarius. With Alfonso, she has walked the plant medicine path for 25 years. Rooted in a lineage of mushroom healers, she is an honorary member of the Wixarika (Huichol) tribe and is authorized to offer Peyote rituals. Her presence in ceremony is that of the feminine — receptive, holding, deeply intuitive.
Alfonso is a surrealist painter and guide in ancestral medicines with 12 years of dedicated experience sharing Bufo Alvarius. He also works with Kambo as part of a holistic ceremonial approach. Recognized as a Bufo master after completing a rigorous 84-day dieta, he works in tandem with Adriana — their approaches distinct, complementary, and inseparable. In ceremony, his presence is direct, grounding, and precise.
Your Facilitators
You will be accompanied, from the screening phase onward, by two therapists and facilitators — experienced in psychodynamic, systemic and transpersonal psychology, as well as in altered states of consciousness and ritualised settings. They hold
For eight years, she has held and guided spaces for transformation through a holistic approach. She is focused on expanding states of consciousness through psychology, Buddhism, sound healing, tantra, and psychedelic experiences.
He has explored various ways, ranging from particle physics to states where there is a rupture of the self — unscheduled moments where "I" stops behaving like a stable thing. His work creates the conditions for such states to arise, and the mythico-ritual frame that lets them continue, and that integrates the process afterwards.

The “feel” ceremony is always included in every tier — the two options above refer only to the number of “let go” doses. Lodging — a generosity scale
In order to support our kind host, lodging is set on a generosity scale, at a minimum of €20 per night, per person, paid directly to the host. If you are unable to support the host financially, feel free to contribute in other ways — cooking, setup, teardown. Let us know.

Frequently Asked
Bufo Alvarius refers to the secretion of the Bufo alvarius toad, native to the Sonoran desert, called "Otack" by the Seri people. The secretion contains 5-MeO-DMT, bufotenine, and other compounds. 5-MeO-DMT — the "God molecule" — produces a rapid, intense, non-dual experience lasting 20–50 minutes. We work exclusively with natural secretion, harvested ethically after the toads' reproduction period, without harm. Alfonso has a 12-year relationship with this practice.
Kambo is the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog from the Amazon. Applied to small points on the skin, it produces a powerful physical purge lasting 20–40 minutes. It functions as preparation and integration — cleansing the physical body before or after the deeper non-dual medicines.
All psychoactive ceremonies carry inherent risks. Effects can be overwhelming and challenging to process. Certain medications — particularly SSRIs, MAOIs, and lithium — are contraindicated. If you have a history of psychosis or take psychiatric medication, inform us immediately. Proper preparation, experienced facilitation, and thorough integration are non-negotiable.
The Isère retreat (29 October – 1 November) is open to people new to this work, provided they have engaged in genuine inner work and arrive with clear intention. If you are new, the single-Bufo tier is usually the right choice. Please discuss your history openly in your preparation call — we will guide you honestly.
The retreat is held at a private property near Romagnieu, in the French Isère — lodging in shared rooms, dry toilets and hot showers, ceremonial spaces both open and sheltered, an outdoor natural pool, and woods around the property. All meals are included. There is no organised transfer; arrange car, rental or car-sharing through the participant circle.
The retreat is facilitated in French and English. Simultaneous Spanish translation is provided by a facilitator for participants who wish to communicate directly with Alfonso and Adriana, who work primarily in Spanish.
We recommend a 7-day mindful diet: no alcohol, no recreational drugs, no red meat, no processed foods, no sugar, no sexual activity. If you take any psychiatric medication, SSRIs, or MAOIs, inform us immediately — some contraindications are absolute. A full preparation guide is provided upon registration.
After your deposit is confirmed, you receive a link to our confidential intake form — a comprehensive self-inquiry questionnaire covering your medical history, mental health, lifestyle, psychedelic history, and intentions. This allows us to meet you with as much presence and knowing as possible before we meet in person. Take your time with it.
Please inform us before referring someone. When they reach out, they should mention your name. This is how we maintain the integrity and safety of the group. We only work with people who come through a chain of trust.
The 200 CHF/EUR deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is refundable up to 30 days prior to the retreat start date, minus the deposit. In cases of genuine emergency, contact us — we will do our best to find a solution.
